We all got a glimpse of the gorgeous new Chanel nail colours at the recent Spring 2010 RTW show in Paris. Now, images are surfacing on the net of the actual shades: Particulière, Tendresse & Inattendu. Chanel’s artistic director of makeup Peter Philips seems to have his finger on the pulse of what women want when it comes to nail colour. My favorite is Particulière – it’s that perfect mix of grey, brown and olive green that makes it the perfect neutral – or shall we shay the new black? The new Chanel nail colours will hit stores in January and I can’t wait to get mine!

Interview with Anne Fontaine, Director of “Coco Before Chanel”
Before Coco Before Chanel hit theaters, I had the pleasure of meeting Anne Fontaine, the writer and director of Coco Before Chanel. I had the chance to ask her about working with the house of Chanel &Karl Lagerfeld, what it was like to see the Chanel archives and how it was to film on the actual mirrored staircase at 31 Rue Cambon. To hear all about it, view the 2-part interview below. Also check out my interviews with actors from the film, Audrey Tautou who played Coco Chanel and Alessandro Nivola who played Chane’ls love, Boy Capel.

Chanel “Coco In Motion” Video & V Magazine
I’ve long thought that Natalie Portman would be a great brand ambassador for Chanel and have gone as far as saying that I think Natalie Portman should be the face of a Chanel fragrance. Though that hasn’t happened (yet) Mlle. Portman was recently shot for the cover of V Magazine and she’s wearing head-to-toe Chanel. To commemorate the issue, V Magazine “commissioned filmmaker Stephen Smith to create stop-motion footage that captures the eternal chic of Chanel.” The film ends with the ensemble that Portman is wearing on the cover – très chic!
Chanel Paris Shanghai: Sneak Preview
A few weeks ago we posted about the opening of the Chanel Shanghai boutique and Chanel “métiers d’art” Paris Shanghai collection. Chanel recently launched a Paris Shanghai website devoted to the Shanghai happenings, complete with sneak previews of the collection, video teasers, and an interview with Peter Marino, the architect of the Shanghai Chanel boutique. Not surprisingly, the collection will feature lots of red – a very popular color in Chinese culture. I’m already loving what I see – especially the lace, jackets, print and lip color! The “métiers d’art” collection is one of my favorite collections of the year, and if you’re looking forward to the show like me, we’ll have to wait until December 3rd for the premier of Karl Lagerfeld’s short movie about the collection and until December 4th for the runway show. Until then, this will have to sate our appetites…

A photo was leaked online today by Olivier Zahm who art directed and designed the issue for Karl Lagerfeld. 31 Rue Cambon #1 will be distributed at Chanel boutiques worldwide. No other details yet – I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!

Chanel Boutique Events
Chanel has some upcoming boutique events in select cities including Palm Beach Gardens, Beverly Hills, Bal Harbour, Palm Beach and San Francisco. I’m most excited about the San Francisco event because it’s celebrating the re-opening of the Chanel boutique after a months-long re-model. I will definitely be there to check out the new boutique – I can’t wait to see what it looks like.
