Saoirse Ronan, the star of Hanna, wore a dress from the Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2011 Paris-Byzance collection to the NYC premiere of her film. I think she wore it well. She seems really young though and I think the dress may be a bit old for her. It’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong, I just would have loved to see her in something else. What do you think?

The outfit looks great on the model as her entire look reflects the Bysance theme of the collection. It takes confidence and a bit of attitude to pull off a look that is basically a costume. Saoirse just isn’t there yet and her hair style is entirely wrong for the dress. She’s a lovely young woman and should be dress to complement her strengths. Whoever styled her look really goofed. There’s a complete disconnect between the dress and the hair.

Hi Eileen,
I think you’re spot on. Her hair is not red carpet at all. It looks a bit like she just threw the dress on. In a time when ladies can make a career for themselves based on how they look on the red carpet you’d think some actresses would put a bit more effort into how they looked…
