As you may know, in addition to blogging about Chanel, I write for 3 other blogs and am a mama to an 11 month old tiny dancer. Hopscout is a website that sells one children’s product a day – they are big on timeless classics, quality and nostalgia. They’re searching for 5 mamas to add to their roster of product reviewers and bloggers. This position is right up my alley and I would be very appreciative if you would help me attain this goal. Please vote for me – it takes 2 seconds! You can watch the video below but you have to place your vote on FACEBOOK. Thanks in advance for your support!!
I’m excited to show the official behind the scenes footage from creative icon Karl Lagerfeld’s short film series starring Rachel Bilson for Magnum ice cream, which will premiere during the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21.
The footage gives an inside look at director Karl Lagerfeld’s vision for the three short films. The shoot took place over three days in Paris, where Mr. Lagerfeld brought his legendary creative prowess behind the camera to direct style setter Rachel Bilson. The series of short films offer American audiences a look into the pleasurable lifestyle Magnum ice cream has cultivated around the world for more than 20 years. The films celebrate the premium indulgence of Magnum ice cream and the attitude that a day without pleasure is a day lost.
The three films are:
· “The Photo Shoot” features Ms. Bilson as a dispirited fashion model who finds the pleasure she’s been seeking in the form of a smooth and delicious Magnum ice cream bar.
· “Ballet” stars Ms. Bilson as a world-renowned ballet dancer who, when unexpectedly faced with an aggressive throng of admirers, savors a moment for herself by enjoying a Magnum bar before greeting her fans.
· In “The Drawing Class,” Ms. Bilson is an art student who indulges in a Magnum ice cream bar and is then inspired to create a beautiful work of art.
Ugh, just watching these is making me want a Magnum ice cream bar! I tried one, they are delicious!!
Chanel is launching eyelash curlers in the US this coming August. If you live in Asia or have visited there, you may have already gotten yours but this will be a first for those of us who are stateside. The Chanel eyelash curlers come with two silicon refill pads and will retail for $34.00.
Saoirse Ronan, the star of Hanna, wore a dress from the Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2011 Paris-Byzance collection to the NYC premiere of her film. I think she wore it well. She seems really young though and I think the dress may be a bit old for her. It’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong, I just would have loved to see her in something else. What do you think?

The Chanel Cruise show will set sail on May 9th and will show in Antibes, a resort town on the Côte d’Azur, located between Cannes and Nice. To coincide with the collection, Karl is making a movie featuring some of his ladies du jour including Freja Beha Erichson, Lady Amanda Harlech, Anna Mouglalis and Kristen McMenamy. The movie will be shot on location in Monaco and other hot spots in the South of France. I’m a bit surprised that this cruise collection will also be centered around the Côte d’Azur because the last Cruise collection was as well. I’m sure it will have a different feel – I’m really curious to see how Karl will switch it up.
Karl Lagerfeld asked Carine Roitfled, former Paris Vogue Editor in Chief, to style the Chanel Fall-Winter 2011/2012 campaign. The shoot took place in Paris and featured Chanel it-girl Freja Beha Erichsen. Karl Lagerfeld gushed, “The mix with Freja was genius.” In addition to styling for Chanel, Roitfeld will be keeping herself busy as a guest editor and stylist at Barneys New York this coming Fall.
Nike, the official sponsor of the French Football team has created the away kit featuring the blue and white stripes of the “marinière”. To commemorate the launch, Nike teamed up with Colette to present the Away Kit, bringing together luxurious brands and their take on the signature blue and white stripes. Chanel is one of the brands to participate in the project and the “marinière” tote is the result. Very French Nautical chic – I love it! Karl Lagerfeld also photographed Alou Diarra, the captain of the French National Team for the project.
