Sneak Peek: La Chanelphile Chanel Beauté Editorial

chanel cosmetics illusions d'ombre fall 2011 collection

This past weekend I assembled my dream team of talented ladies for the first of what will hopefully be a regular experience:  a La Chanelphile Chanel Beauté Editorial.  The Chanel PR team in NY was kind and generous enough to send over the Fall-Winter Illusions d’Ombre collection for La Chanelphile to photograph.  I thought it would be fun to include vintage Chanel accessories into the shoot courtesy of The Goods! by Liz Baca.  Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come…

  1. I can’t wait for this post, I love Chanel Make-up. It allows me to have that little Chanel experience without an enormous outlay. I always feel better when I use my Chanel products – it seems silly but they give me an extra burst of confidence over any other make-up.

Did you finish reading the Jaques Helleu Chanel book? I’ve recently finished The secret history of Chanel No 5 which was really interesting and I’m currently reading The World of Coco Chanel, Friends, Fashion, Fame by Edmonde Charles-Roux.

  2. Thanks! I know, the cosmetics are great because for those of us who can’t run out and buy Chanel clothing, shoes and bags we can buy into the dream bit by bit with some nail polish or lip gloss :)

I did go through the Jaques Helleu book but there’s been so much seasonal Chanel news with the HC show recently that I’m pushing it back for a slow day :) I still have to read The Secret History of Chanel N°5 and I love The World of Coco Chanel, Friends, Fashion, Fame by Edmonde Charles-Roux.

  3. I think you will really enjoy The secret history of Chanel No 5, I couldn’t put it down. Are there any others you would recommend? I have already read The Biography by Justine Picardie and Collections and Creations by Daniele Bott.

    Thanks!

  4. I also love Chanel The Coutouriere at Work, The Gospel According to Coco Chanel and The Allure of Chanel by Paul Morand and Douglas Kirkland’s Coco Chanel 3 Weeks 1962. I plan on reviewing them all for the site one day…
