Halloween is just a few weeks away and it’s hard to go anywhere without seeing a reminder of the upcoming holiday. While my days of dressing up are done, I still like to imagine what I would be for Halloween if I were celebrating. One of my favorite costumes that comes to mind is Karl Lagerfeld. Uncle Karl’s style is unique and instantly recognizable so it’s a perfect Halloween costume. And, you can put it together with some stylish pieces that you may already have – or can incorporate into your existing wardrobe. Here’s what you will need:
1. A wig. If you can’t find a white one, you can put your hair in a pony tail (or a darker wig) and cover your hair (or wig) with baby powder – just like they did back in the day;
2. Leather (or faux leather) fingerless gloves;
3. Black sunglasses;
4. Black Tie (or White) – the wider the better;
5. A brooch with a gemstone to use as a tie clip;
6. A long chunky silver necklace to wear over your tie;
7. A white high-collar shirt;
8. Black jeans – a funky finish like wax coating gets you extra points;
And, if you’re going as chubby Karl from the 1980s then you can’t be without a….
