I mentioned a while back that I Love Dust design agency created a few graphics for Karl Lagerfeld’s KARL line. The new t-shirts drop today exclusively at the KARL pop-up shop, Colette in Paris and on Karl.com. To celebrate the launch the KARL pop-up shop is hosting a launch party in NYC but admission is invitation only. Her are the rest of the designs from the I Love Dust x KARL collaboration – the images above are women’s tees and the images below are men’s tees.

A while back I mentioned that Chanel would be taking The Little Black Jacket to New York City. To commemorate the new exhibit Chanel has revamped The Little Black Jacket micro site. I’m hoping to make it back out to NY for the exhibit – I’ll keep you posted!

Chanel recently posted three new makeup tutorials by Lisa Eldridge where she shows us how to apply Chanel Rouge Coco and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine. I love watching Lisa Eldridge’s tutorials because she explains things clearly and makes everything look so easy.
Chanel’s “The Little Black Jacket” Exhibition is coming to the U.S. and will be open to the public in New York City from June 8 through June 15. The exhibition will kick off with a party on June 6th and I’m sure will have many fancy people in attendance. Running simultaneously with the exhibition, window displays in CHANEL boutiques will present a selection of jackets from the Paris-Bombay Métiers d’art collection, whilst in-store the iconic jacket will have pride of place.

I’ve been busy running around NYC so I haven’t had time to finish all the drafts I have started about the rest of the Cruise Collection (celebrity arrivals, etc) and the St. Tropez ephemeral boutique but I assure you, I will get to it. I HAVE had time to go to Chanel Heaven aka A Second Chance Resale in NYC – both locations. I will have a store review and interview of the owners coming soon but I wanted to leave you with a sneak peek – you KNOW I didn’t leave empty handed!

I always love the final walk of a Chanel runway show because I feel like it’s Chanel flexing for the rest of the world the kind of power it carries. It always starts with Karl Lagerfeld choosing his muse du jour and walking the course of the runway with all of the models (or mannequins as they like to call them) strutting behind him like a peacock tail opening to show off it’s lovely colors.
The final walk of the Chanel Cruise 2012-13 was no different except this time, there were 66 models walking and the course of the runway were the grounds of Château de Versailles in the Bosquet des 3 Fontaines, which was restored (from original paintings from the period),thanks to the support of Madame Catharine Hamilton, President of the American Friends of Versailles (A.F.V.) and the Château de Versailles. The decor set up for the Chanel Cruise 2012-13 show included 16 tents, 22 lamps, 480 seats (really? 480 seats and one of those couldn’t be mine?! with three gorgeous fountains spouting all the while. Though the decor was simple and chic it took one week to set up. Check out more pics of the view below…

I love neutral nail colors – especially because I need to keep my nail short (so I won’t scratch my tiny dancer) and because I don’t have the time to get manicures as often as I would like. I especially like neutrals set against lightly-tanned summer skin. Chanel has introduced the perfect new summer shade – Beige. If the color looks familiar, it may be because I mentioned it in an earlier post as being worn by Kristen Stewart, January Jones and Greta Gerwig at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala. The color is available exclusively on Chanel.com. I know some of you live in countries that don’t have Chanel e-commerce set up, I’m waiting to hear back about what international distribution will be like.

The I Love Dust Design Agency (not to be confused with a cleaning service) has been commissioned to create graphics for the KARL by Karl Lagerfeld line. One of the designs is an image of Karl Lagerfeld make up of words and phrases – a clever use of typography. “The dark shades say ‘Sunglasses are like eye shadow: They make everything look younger and pretty,’ while his signature collar reads, ‘Black, like white, is the best color.’”
The design will be featured on four limited edition shirts for men and women and will be available for sale on May 31st at the KARL pop-up shop in NYC as well as Colette in Paris retailing for $95. Among the other graphics created by I Love Dust that were selected was a sketch of Karl’s signature fingerless driving gloves.
I think these will be a nice addition to the collection. I’m missing the launch of these shirts by literally one day! I’m leaving NY on the 30th If you’re lucky enough to be in NY and Paris I wish you luck getting one!

In October 2011, the U.S. edition of Elle Magazine published a fashion editorial featuring Victoria’s Secret babes Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Miranda Kerr, and Chanel Iman. Though shot last year, the shoot featured mouth-watering vintage Chanel accessories – some of it dating back to the 1960s (those gorgeous giant dangling 5 hoop earrings!!). The flashy editorial was styled by Joe Zee and photographed by Alexei Hay. Click on the first image to see all of the images larger in a slideshow. Enjoy and have a nice weekend!

Chanel just released a video showing the behind the scenes action of the Chanel Cruise 2012/13 Show from hair and makeup to VIP arrivals. How contagious is that song that’s in all the vidoes?? Check it out below…
