Inès de la Fressange was Karl Lagerfeld’s muse in the 1980s. What a great time to be his muse! She was the first model to sign an exclusive contract with an haute couture fashion house – in this case Chanel. The relationship between Karl Lagerfeld and Inès de la Fressange produced a large body of work as she was the face of the company for most of the 80 when Chanel re-emerged in 1983 until 1989. Their relationship simmered down when she decided to lend her likeness to create a bust of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic. Karl Lagerfeld and Inès de la Fressange reunited in the past several years and we even saw Inès de la Fressange walk the runway for the Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 show.
I’ve compiled some of my favorite videos, photos and ad campaigns featuring the lovely Inès de la Fressange. Enjoy!

I can’t get enough of these ads – I don’t know the exact year but the print ads are from 1986 to 1988 so I believe the videos are from the same time. I hate to say this but I find the video below, a commercial for the U.S. market to be a bit silly. I much prefer the French ad, it’s much more chic and truer to the brand.

Someone, please tell me what they are saying… and how amazing is that fashion show in the background?!
