When black is the beginning of a mystery, radical and utterly fascinating.

I just read exciting news! Coco Chanel is releasing a flanker to the 1980s cult classic Coco Fragrance called Coco Noir. Composed by Chanel master perfumer Jacques Polge, Chanel Coco Noir “s inspired by the past, traveling, the Baroque, Venice at night and the time Coco spent in the mysterious city….the idea of Venetian velvet is a recurring motif.” (Perfume Shrine).
The fragrance notes for Chanel Coco Noir are as follows:
Top: grapefruit, bergamot and orange
Heart: jasmine, rose, red geranium, Indonesian patchouli
Base: Brazilian tonka bean, Bourbon vanilla, sandalwood, frankincense and white musk.

Coco Noir will release in August 2012 and then internationally in September 2012. I can’t wait to see the ad campaign! I’m wondering if they will go all out with a celebrity face and film or let the bottle speak for itself? I also am excited to smell the new fragrance. I love Coco and occasionally wear Coco Mademoiselle but love the idea of a noir fragrance – what could be more Coco?
