The Chanel Fall-Winter 2013 2014 Haute Couture Collection debuted last week in the Grand Palais in Paris. Set amidst the ruins of a theater with a modern city in the background, the decor provided the theme — Old World to New World.
The clothing however, did not reflect much of the Old World – at least no particular era. There were hints of the Old World everywhere but the collection had such a modern flair that none of the pieces looked dated. The fabrics, embellishments and treatments on the clothing are all of the future. All together though, there was no doubt this was a Chanel collection. The fabulous tweeds, the hats, the gorgeous dresses — Mlle. Chanel would definitely approve.
