Video: Lisa Eldridge on Chanel Les Beiges

Lisa Eldridge shows us how to create an effortless evening look with Chanel’s Les Beiges. I’m especially loving the eye shadow and nail polish – they’re not new products but they look really pretty.

Karl Creates Custom Chanel Jackets for Cate Blanchett

cate blanchett chanel blue jasmine

In Woody Allen’s latest film, Blue Jasmine, Cate Blanchett is in the title role. Lucky Magazine reports that the costume designer, Suzy Benzinger, stated: “I called up Karl Lagerfeld and, I have to tell you, I was astounded…I sent a note and in two days he shipped out two custom made jackets for Cate Blanchett with the most beautiful note. And I just thought, ‘Oh my god,’ and he just said ‘For Cate, I’d do anything’”.

I wish Karl would say, “For Gabriella, I do anything.” Sigh. I’m still looking forward to seeing Blue Jasmine though – I love Woody’s leading ladies.

Karl Lagerfeld Collaborates to Create Velvet Glasses

lapo elkann karl lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld is collaborating with Italia Independent, founded by Lapo Elkann, a man who is also often seen with statement glasses. An Italian industrialist and entrepreneur, Elkann has worked on many projects, including the Fiat x Gucci collaboration. One of the categories that he produces is eyewear, which he has perfected a velvet-like finish.

The two eyewear lovers, (I mean, when was the last time you saw Karl without glasses?), will create three pairs of optical glasses and sunglasses each, with two being unisex. When asked about the collaboration Lagerfeld stated: “I love velvet gloves on iron hands and velvet sunglasses on steel eyes.” (WWD).

Lake Bell’s Chanel Beauté Look at the Espy’s 2013 Award Look

lake bell chanel

Chanel celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin created a look that was natural, yet glamorous, for Lake Bell at the 2013 Espy Awards. Read on to see how to get the look…

Inspiration: I wanted Lake’s ESPY Awards makeup to have a glamorous yet laid back feel to it.

Skin: First, I hydrated her skin with Le Jour de Chanel serum to give her a fresh glow.

Foundation: I wanted to allow her natural skin to come through, so I lightly applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 to her skin.
Blush: I sculpted her cheekbones with CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in No. 30 for a healthy but natural looking glow.

Eye: To define her beautiful eyes, I lined the upper lid only with CHANEL Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir.
Mascara: Lashes were curled and coated with two coats of Le Volume De Chanel Mascara in Noir.

Brows: I filled in her brows with CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Cendre. Lips: I finished the look with Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Favorite a beautiful orange red.

Video: Chanel Fall 2013 Film “Women Only” by Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld has once again made a fashion film — “Women Only” — to launch the most recent collection soon to hit boutiques, the Chanel Fall-Winter 2013/14 pre-collection. He cleverly uses his previous film “Once Upon a Time”, featuring Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel, as the backdrop for “Women Only”. Karl chose the obscurity of a Parisian cinema as the set and we see models stroll in – individually and in pairs – all wearing head to to Chanel.

I think “Women Only” is one of Karl’s best fashion films – it’s just another medium for us to see the gorgeous Chanel creations in a different light – rather than just staring at stills. “Women Only” does a beautiful job of highlighting the Chanel collection – I’m convinced, I want it all!

Label: Pop Noire

Video: Chanel Fall 2013 Superstition Makeup Collection

I love this video for the Chanel Fall 2013 Superstition makeup collection. I saw it on the Chanel website and was hoping it would be on YouTube. Chanel always does a wonderful job of paying tribute to the legacy and codes that Coco Chanel left us.

Sponsored: Stay Cool This Summer with Starbucks Iced Coffee

Summer is here at last and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’ve had some time to relax with my family but I’m most excited about an upcoming trip to Maui, Hawaii this September. I – cannot – wait! Every day I catch myself daydreaming about wiggling my toes in the sand while sipping on a Mai Tai or Iced Coffee. And you know I’m planning those outfits in advance. Here are the top ten things that I have to pack for my trip…

1. Good swimsuit – It’s a beach vacation, you need a flattering swimsuit so you can enjoy the ocean.

2. Wide-brimmed hat – Protect yourself from the sun and look extremely chic doing it.

3. Sunscreen – Even though I like a little color that Hawaiian sun is no joke – you need sun protection.

4. Scarf – You can tie your hair back or knot it into a necklace or bracelet – scarves are infinitely versatile and a great accessory to travel with because they take up so little room.

5. Sandals – Because the sand gets hot and you need to wear shoes in the hotel.

6. Lip Gloss – A light, sheer color on your lips – especially pink or peach – is pretty on sunkissed skin.

7. Moisturizer – For après beach of course!

8. Hair Conditioner – Your locks will take a beating between the chlorine in the pool, salt in the ocean and sun beating down on it.

9. Beach Bag – A large bag large enough to carry all your beach necessities and chic enough to take with you to see the sites.

10.Camera – To document it all!

Making this list is getting me that much more excited for my trip. No beach day would be complete without a cold, refreshing drink like a Starbucks Iced Coffee. Here’s to a keeping cool this summer!
