Sponsored Post: Ultrabook™ Inspired by Intel – the LBD of Computers Part 2

Vintage Chanel Mini Flap Bag

When I was asked by Intel to snap and share images of designs that inspire my love of fashion it was a no brainer. As a Chanelphile, you can see Coco Chanel’s influence everywhere in how women dress almost one-hundred years after she started designing. A few weeks ago I showed you some pieces from my closet that were Chanel or Chanel-inspired. This week, I’m showing some more favorite Chanel accessories.

In some ways the Ultrabook™ inspired by Intel is like a classic little black dress in your closet. It’s dependable and can run for hours and standby for days. At less than an inch thick, the lightweight and highly portable Ultrabook™ is easy to grab and go anywhere and probably much smaller than your favorite bag that you carry your life in. The Ultrabook™ wakes up in a flash, so you get quick access to your favorite content by going from zero to go in seconds.

1932 – Chanel 80th Anniversary Bijoux de Diamants Exhibition

chanel 1932 jewlery collection
Back in February I mentioned that Chanel was celebrating the 80th anniversary of Coco Chanel’s only fine jewelry collection created in 1932 called the Bijoux de Diamants collection. To commemorate the anniversary, Chanel has designed a collection of fine jewelry inspired by Coco Chanel’s jewelry designs featuring five themes that were Coco’s signatures: the sun, comets, feathers, fringes and ribbons/knots. The designers added a sixth theme – the lion – because Coco Chanel was a Leo and surrounded herself with portrayals of lions. The collection is now on display in an exhibit called simply “1932″.

Only one piece remains from Coco Chanel’s original 1932 collection – a comet brooch – and the brooch is on display at the 1932 exhibit. The exhibit is on display at the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris starting September 14 – 23, 2012. The exhibit will travel to New York in October and to Tokyo in November. I hope that I can make the New York exhibit! You can see a bit of the exhibit in the video below.

Chanel ULTRA Fine Jewelry Collection – A Story of Contrasts Video

Here’s another video featuring the Chanel Ultra Fine Jewelry collection. These rings are striking and I love the way the look stacked together on one finger. I also love the idea of one of these rings as a wedding band. Here’s what Chanel has to say about the collection:

A harmonious balance of beauty and strength, the ULTRA Collection stands out with unparalleled graphic style. Contemporary, high-tech ceramic creates fluid lines, while the bold black and white palette is emblematic of the House of Chanel.

Chanel Paris-Bombay 2011/12 Métiers d’Art Accessories

Chanel Paris Bombay 2011 2012 Accessories

The Chanel Paris-Bombay 2011/12 Métiers d’Art collection hit stores last week and I can not wait to see these beauties in person! This is one of my favorite collections to date – the fusion of Chanel signatures with traditional Indian jewelry is gorgeous and makes for dramatic, statement pieces that would shine in your accessories collection. Since these pieces are new they won’t be included in the Chanel sale on the 14th but that doesn’t mean I won’t take a good look at them while I’m there!

CHANAILS! Miss May 2012 Chanel Manicure, Vintage Gift Wrap & Camellias

miss nails did may 2012 calendar chanel manicure
MISS is back again with more CHANAILS for their MISS Nails Did 2012 calendar. Nothing says spring like flowers and if you’re going floral – whether on your jeans, kicks or nails – they might as well be Chanel-inspired. Since color is huge for spring, and in particular for 2012, we opted for bright vintage Chanel gift wrap for our background and authentic Chanel camellia brooches to accompany our CHANAILS. I hope you’re having a great spring and let’s get ready for summer!

Fashion In The Streets: Chanel Sightings in San Francisco & The Alameda Point Antique Faire

I’ve been sitting on these photos for some time, I must admit that I see a lot more Chanel on the streets but I don’t walk around with my camera and/or phone out all the time so most of the time the Chanels just walk on by… But sometimes, I get lucky like I did at the Alameda Point Antique Fair.  It’s hard to know what faux or not – some are definitely fake, and some I just don’t know but I like seeing anything Chanel inspired….

Likely real.

Very likely real.

Faux, but really cute.

If they’re piled on the floor, I’m guessing they’re fake.

I also saw some gems in San Francisco like the blue purse, metallic ballet flats and the very fake (but very funny) sweat shirt…
