Heritage Auctions has launched its Spring Luxury Auction, a bi-annual major luxury auction, online and bidding is now open. The actual auction will take place on August 29th in New York. Last August I mentioned that Coco Chanel’s vacation home, La Pausa, was for sale. Well, it’s been scooped up off the market for an undisclosed amount but the property was listed for about €40 million. Riviera Times
There has been some controversy about the crystal cuffs shown at the Chanel Fall 2012 show – some say that Chanel ripped off Pamela Love. I don’t think they did anything intentional but Chanel has refused to produce the cuffs. Whatever. I don’t think the Pamela Love cuffs are all that original – they’re fancy versions of flea market crystal jewelry (just my 2 cents). Fashionista
Word on the street is that Chanel has received approval to design a new store on Bond Street in London that will also be the new U.K. headquarters for the brand. You can bet there will be some cool exclusive product and parties when this boutique opens up. Vogue UK
Earlier this year we posted an image of the Chanel Premiere Toubillon and now we have a Chanel video of this gorgeous time piece. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Première watch, Chanel offers women the opportunity to enter into the world of high mechanical complications with the Première Flying Tourbillon. The watch is currently being presented at the International Watch Fair at Basel from March 8th to 15th , 2012.
Last week Chanel presented its Fall-Winter 2012/13 Ready-to-Wear collection and accessory-wise this was not my favorite show – don’t hate me, I’m just being honest. I found that the cuffs with large crystals sometimes read a little bit New Age-hippy-dippy to me. That said, there were also spectacular pieces like the collars/chest plates, the sexy line of the shoes, the mesh gloves (and the length of the gloves!) and the handbags (not counting the crushed velvet ones). I’m sure as more detailed images are released I will find more to love. For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with these…

I don’t know where all of this stock of vintage Chanel jewelry is coming from but it seems like there’s a vintage Chanel jewelry sale every week. The latest is on Yoox.com and I’m jealous of anyone that buys anything from this sale. I always manage to want the pieces that are out of my price range – hopefully you’ll find something in yours.
Chanel Joaillerie Spring 2012 Chanel Cosmos watch open
Last month I posted about Chanel Joaillerie’s Spring 2012 collection which pays homage to the 80th Anniversary of Coco Chanel’s 1932 Bijoux de Diamants collection. I happened to find more images online and each of these pieces is breathtakingly beautiful. I have never before seen such exquisite jewels. Each piece in the collection is one of a kind and is set to tour the world in a traveling exhibition. I hope the exhibition comes to a city in the U.S – I would love to see these pieces up close and personal.
Today I walked into the Chanel boutique with no intention of buying anything – I just wanted to look. I was in the store less than a minute when a pair of earrings caught my eye. A pair of earrings that were made for me – and that I’ve been waiting for. I’m ashamed to say I bought a non-Chanel pair of similar earrings because I thought it was a great style but I hadn’t seen a Chanel version. When I saw the earrings, I knew they were meant to be mine. The sales associate told me they were a new style that recently released. I could not resist! Today, I treated myself to some double-Cs. It was a good day!
Valentine’s Day is coming and there’s no better way to say “I love you” than with the gift of Chanel (chocolate comes close though)! Chanel is releasing its 2012 Valentine’s Day collection featuring purses, small leather goods and accessories. The collection is awash in the palest pink and soft shimmery gold giving it a hint of the blush of first love. It’s hard to choose a favorite as I love them all (and would be happy receiving any as a gift dear husband) but I’m especially loving the exotics skins, the quilted bag shaped like a brown paper lunch bag, the camellia and camellia-embosses leather items, the wrist cuff, brooch, earrings, and bracelets. This collection is so lovely and would be a great transition into spring. And don’t forget, you don’t need a Valentine to treat yourself on Valentine’s Day.
