chanel fall winter 2013 2014 makeup

The most striking aspect of the Chanel Ready-to-Wear Autumn-Winter 2013/2014 makeup were the bejeweled eyes of all the models walking down the runway. But of course, every season the question most people have is, “what is the new nail color??” The answer is Elixir, and it will be out late summer as part of the Fall 2013 Collection.

    Chanel Le Vernis iPhone Cases

There are a lot of back Chanel-inspired iPhone cases out there -you know the ones with all the rhinestones – but I saw these Le Vernis phone cases on Instagram yesterday and my jaw dropped. These are amazing! I tracked them down on Etsy and yes, I ordered one in Dragon. You can find the Le Vernis iPhone cases on Etsy.

Chanel Beauté at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Chanel not only was present at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards in the way of Haute Couture but Chanel Beauté cosmetics graced the lovely faces of Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Jodie Foster, Naomi Watts, Michelle Dockery, Emily Mortimer and Alicia Vikander. See the images below for beauty tips and how to get the looks from the Chanel celebrity makeup artists Rachel Goodwin, Vanessa Scali, Pati Dubroff, Jordan B. Long and Kate Lee.

Anne Hathaway Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee

Anne Hathaway Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee

INSPIRATION: Annie wore an ice-white beaded gown by CHANEL with CHANEL Fine Jewelry! The look was elegant, but still youthful and light. I felt that the makeup should mirror this, and wanted Annie to appear as if lit from within, so I concentrated on making the complexion as tactile as possible, and added a dash of blue pink to the lips as a focal point.
SKINCARE: CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum followed by CHANEL Base Lumière Illuminating Makeup Base.
FOUNDATION:    I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 to keep the skin looking radiant. I added a small amount of CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long- Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 only where needed.
BLUSH: On the cheekbones, I used a light sweeping touch of Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder to illuminate the bone structure; I also followed this along the clavicle and over the shoulder blades. On the apple of the cheek, I used a pale peach blush to contrast the lip color.
EYES:    I defined Annie’s eye socket with CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Fauve which is a delicious grey/lilac shade. I ran the color along the base of the lower lashes to finish the look.
MASCARA: Lashes were curled and given a coat of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir. I then added a selection of lashes for a customized shape.
LIPS: Lips were CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Sedusicante, the perfect pink for a perfect pout.

Anne Hathaway Nails by Celebrity Manicurist Alicia Torello

INSPIRATION: We started with one idea based off the dress and then it just kept evolving. Anne usually knows what she wants and has fantastic taste.

    COLORS: CHANELLeVernisNailColourinPearlDrop.

RED CARPET NAIL TRICK: A great top coat for super shine. Lots of lotion and cuticle oil, hydration is the most important thing!

Sienna Miller Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff

Sienna Miller Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff

INSPIRATION: I wanted the makeup to look very fresh, young and effortless. The dress has a very airy floral vibe so the makeup feels like a summer day.

SKINCARE: CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Texture Suprême and CHANEL Base Lumière Illuminating Makeup Base to give skin a luminous glow.

FOUNDATION: CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Beige 40. I used Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base to contour the cheekbones and to add a soft summer bronzy glow.

EYES: I first used a rich navy blue pencil, CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Marine, at the deepest base of lashes. I then smudged a shimmering shade, CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Graphite, along the lash line. To set the liner, I used CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Furtif. I then added a dash of CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Riviere, a soft shimmering seafoam green on the center of lid. Then a soft touch of CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme on the inner corner of eyes for a pop of shimmering white light.

MASCARA: I used a hefty dose of Le Volume de Chanel in Noir on the top lashes only.

LIPS: I created a soft and sweet petal pink using CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Gracile.

Naomi Watts Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff

Naomi Watts Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff

INSPIRATION: Naomi is one of those actresses who evoke a timeless, classic elegance. I kept thinking Carole Lombard and the polish of the 30′s screen sirens. She was sexy and sultry, and that is how I see Naomi.

SKINCARE: Skin was prepped with Le Blanc De Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base.

FOUNDATION: CHANEL Vitalumière Moisture-Rich Radiance Sunscreen Fluid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 20 Clair and CHANEL Lift Lumière Smoothing and Rejuvenating Eye Contour Concealer in 20 Rose Lumière around the eye area.
BLUSH: A very soft swipe of CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Petale high on the apples of the cheeks for a very romantic feel. On the very tops of cheekbones, I applied a soft swipe of Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder to create a pearl-like finish.

EYES: I defined the upper and lower lashline and inner rims with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Gris. The eye socket and lash lines were contoured with the deep plum tone from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Raffinement. I left the center open to add a flash of pewter shine with CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eye Shadow in Epatant. I then added a bit more flash at the upper and lower center lash lines with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Rose Platine.

MASCARA: A coat of mascara upper lash with Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir and then a bordeaux coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Rouge Noir on the lower lashes.

LIPS: I applied CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Determinee, a plum tone with a lip brush and then pressed the color into the lip with my finger to make it look stained and softened.

Jodie Foster Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin

Jodie Foster Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin

INSPIRATION: Jodie’s Golden Globes make up was meant to be sultry and super glamorous. When I saw the incredible structure of her navy metallic gown I knew Gunmetal eyes and soft peach lips and cheeks would be the perfect compliment. She was receiving the prestigious Cecil B De Mille Life Time Achievement Award and I wanted her to feel as beautiful as possible for such a big moment.

SKINCARE: I began by prepping her skin with CHANEL Sublimage L’Essence Essential Revitalizing Concentrate and let it absorb in to the skin.

FOUNDATION: I applied a thin layer of CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 with a foundation brush buffing off any excess. I sculpted her cheeks with Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing powder in Sable Beige.

EYES: I traced her lash line with CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Marine, blending until there was a soft diffused line. I went over the navy liner with CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Black Star using an angled brush blending upward onto her crease and lids creating an intense smoky effect.

MASCARA: I coated her lashes with Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir and added a few individual lashes at the ends for even more amped up lashes.

LIPS: Her lips were a combination of CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Natural and CHANEL Rouge Allure Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Mervielle.

Emily Mortimer Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin

Emily Mortimer Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin

INSPIRATION: I wanted Emily’s makeup to have a laid back, sexy feel. I was inspired by chic French girls like Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon who always seem to strike that perfect balance and never look too done.

FOUNDATION: I created soft matte skin with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Beige 10.

EYES: The main focus of the look was her eyes so I began by lining her lash line with CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Noir- Ivoire using just the black shadow for a smoky effect. I softened the black by placing a white shimmering cream shadow on the inner eye and on to her eyelid creating a soft grey shimmer.

MASCARA: I used two coats of Le Volume de Chanel mascara in Noir on her lashes.

LIPS: On her lips, I used CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Fantasque, a soft nude that would add just enough color for her lips not to disappear and then finished by dabbing a bit on her cheeks.

Michelle Dockery Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Jordan B. Long

Michelle Dockery Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Jordan B. Long

INSPIRATION: Modern and sexy with Old Hollywood Glamour. Michelle is in period 60 percent of the time so to try something new we wanted to do a smoky eye, some high fashion and some tousled hair to highlight her new cut.

SKINCARE: I started with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum and followed with Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base all over the face with a foundation brush.

FOUNDATION: I lightly stippled CHANEL Vitalumière Moisture-Rich Radiance Sunscreen Fluid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15. Michele’s skin is so flawless – so we love to let that show through.

BLUSH: After a light dusting of translucent powder, I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Frivole to the apples o her cheeks. Michelle loves her skin to show through and I love to use highlighters and to keep her complexion dewy, so the Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder was perfect on her cheekbones, down her nose and above her lip and her chin for brightening.

EYES: We wanted to do a smoky eye. Michelle’s character in Downton Abbey wears next to nothing, so we decided early on to go for it. Since she’s wearing white and gold with burgundy shoes we wanted something warm. I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Raffinement. I applied the dark burgundy brown all over the lid. Then blending up towards the browbone, but leaving some space. I then added CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparence at the center, blending the colors together. I love burgundy and gold. Michelle has a lot of reddish tones in the color of her eyes so we wanted to highlight that. We finished with a very fine line on upper lash line of CHANEL Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense.

MASCARA: I used three coats of Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir. We also added extra coats on Michelle’s extra-long gorgeous lower lashes for extreme fluttery lashes.

LIPS: We wanted a very natural, nudish glossy lip. Michelle has a lot of pigment in her lips naturally, so against her pale gorgeous milky skin doing too nude doesn’t work, so we used a lipstick with a slight color: CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Sedusicante with no liner and then with a gold gloss, CHANEL Rouge Allure Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Attirance.

Alicia Vikander Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Vanessa Scali

Alicia Vikander Chanel Makeup by Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Vanessa Scali

INSPIRATION: Alicia wore a gorgeous CHANEL gown. I was inspired by her natural beauty and liked the contrast of an effortless, fresh face against her textured, intricate gown.

SKINCARE: CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum followed by CHANEL Sublimage Essential Regenerating Fluid and CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Yeux. This combination prepares the skin with penetrating hydration and leaves a clean finish on the skin.

FOUNDATION: I applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 sparingly. Alicia has gorgeous skin so there is no need to hide it under foundation.
BLUSH: CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Initiale concentrated on the apples of the cheeks blending outward and upward toward the cheekbones. For a touch of shimmer, I used Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder high on the cheekbones and brow bones.

EYES: Using CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Rives, I blended the pale gold shade from lash line to just past the natural crease. To lengthen and add depth, I used the mid-brown shade and concentrated on the outer corners of the eye and extended past the natural eye line. I blended a touch of CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme on the inner corner and into the middle of the lid. This pops a little light on this area and opens the eyes.

EYELINER: To define and elongate the lash line, I lined her eyes (upper lid only) with CHANEL Precision Eyeliner in Brun Intense. I used the tip of the CHANEL Contour Shadow Brush #14 to smudge it into the lash line. This gives you the definition in a soft, subtle way.

MASCARA: A few generous coats of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir. LIPS: CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Bel-Ami gave her lips a beautiful, just-bitten look.

    Chanel Spring-Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear Show Beauty

    Chanel Spring-Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear Show Beauty

Pearls played a huge part in the Chanel Spring-Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear so it’s no surprise that the makeup was luminous and iridescent like pearls. I loved the large pearls in the models’ hair – very similar to the pearls from the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection only larger. To learn how to make similar pins, check out my post on DIY Chanel-Inspired pearl hairpins.

Usually the first thing I look for is the new Le Vernis but all the images I could find looked like the models were just wearing a clear top coat or a traditional French manicure. We learn below that there is a new color that was used – not sure what Eastern Light looks like but I’ll keep you posted!

Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup used the following CHANEL products to create the runway beauty looks:

Chanel 2012-13 Fall Winter Haute Couture Show Makeup by Peter Philips

Chanel 2012 2013 Fall Winter Haute Couture Show Makeup by Peter Philips

The makeup at the Chanel 2012 2013 Fall Winter Haute Couture Show was beautiful as always but the nail art stole the show.  The interweb is abuzz with Chanel’s foray into nail art.  The two colors featured are May (Spring 2012) and Silver – a limited edition color from Spring 2007.  Don’t fret, silver is a pretty easy color to come by these days so you can replicate the manicure pretty easily if you want to.

As for the makeup, Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup used the following CHANEL products to create the runway beauty looks:

Skin prepared with HYDRA BEAUTY SERUM Hydration Protection Radiance

    The Complexion
VITALUMIERE AQUA Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15
    ECLAT LUMIERE Highlighting Face Pen

Chanails! Chanel Nails from the Fall-Winter 2012/13 Haute Couture Show

chanel nails haute couture fall winter 2012 2013 One of the things many people are excited to see during Chanel shows are a glimpse of the nails.  For the Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2012/13 show Chanel stepped it up and gave us some nail art instead of a one-color manicure.  The two colors look like silver and pink but on the runway the pink looked a bit like coral.  I’m not sure if it was a different color or the same color under different lighting.  I’ll let you know as soon as I have some more info but I thought I’d give you a first look. Enjoy!

Chanel “Paris-Bombay” Bombay Express 2012 Makeup

chanel bombay express makeupBack in December I showed you the beauty for Chanel Métiers D’Art Paris-Bombay Pre-Fall 2012 collection and now we have official images of the pieces in the Chanel Bombay Express makeup collection.  The collection features a lovely Poudre Compacte called Route des Indes de Chanel which is a lovely golden color used to highlight and matches many skintones. As with all of Chanel’s special palettes, the Route des Indes de Chanel compact features an Indian-inspired design.

chanel bombay express makeupThe collection also includes Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Nirvana, a deep black to give you the effect of kohl-rimmed eyes.  Nirvana differs from Mirifique because it looks like a truer black without the silver sparkle and mulit-color shimmer of Mirifique.

chanel bombay express makeup diwali nail polish
The Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Brume d’Or is a lovely pinkish-peach with a hint of gold and the new Rouge Coco Shine
in Empreinte is a nice nude color to balance out the dramatic and bold eyemakeup.  Finally there’s Le Vernis in Diwali, a luminous gold shade named for the Indian festival of lights.

I love the items in the collection – I’m a huge fan of dramatic eye makeup with a nude lip and I think these colors will look especially pretty with a tanned summer glow.  The collection is set to release this month.

Chanel Introduces Le Vernis Nail Colour In Beige

    chanel le vernis beige

I love neutral nail colors – especially because I need to keep my nail short (so I won’t scratch my tiny dancer) and because I don’t have the time to get manicures as often as I would like.  I especially like neutrals set against lightly-tanned summer skin.  Chanel has introduced the perfect new summer shade – Beige.  If the color looks familiar, it may be because I mentioned it in an earlier post as being worn by Kristen Stewart, January Jones and Greta Gerwig at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala. The color is available exclusively on Chanel.com.  I know some of you live in countries that don’t have Chanel e-commerce set up, I’m waiting to hear back about what international distribution will be like.

Chanel Beauté at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala

Chanel apparel may have been lacking on the red carpet at the Metropolitan’s 2012 Costume Institute Gala but Chanel Beauté made a strong showing. Here is a breakdown of who wore what this past Monday…

JANUARY JONES – MAKEUP BY CHANEL CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST RACHEL GOODWIN
2012 costume institute gala january jonesJanuary’s makeup tonight was all about fun spring color, so we chose CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Enjouee, a matte coral shade (available September) to create a prominent pastel mouth with a slightly playful feeling.

I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 10 on her skin for a smooth hydrated complexion.

I shaded her eye crease and cheekbones with Exclusive Creation Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Rose and embellished her lids and inner eyes with CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre in Vision (available November), a gold irridescent cream shade that played off the gold details of her vivid yellow gown and her turquoise and gold necklace. I finished her eyes with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir and filled in her brows with CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair.

    Products used:
CHANEL Rouge Allure Lipstick in Enjouee (available September), $32.50
CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 10, $45.00
Exclusive Creation Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Rose, $60.00
CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre in Vision (available November), $36.00
CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00
CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair, $29.00

On her fingers: CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Colour in Beige*

CAREY MULLIGAN – MAKEUP BY MAKEUP ARTIST GEORGIE EISDELL

2012 costume institute gala carey mulliganUsually when designing the look for a big event, I seek inspiration in multiple areas but seeing as this is the MET Gala, all of the inspiration came from the dress! Her dress is a true work of art and reminded me of a modern day glamorous gladiator so I wanted her eyes to look fierce!

I started by prepping Carey’s skin with CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme. It’s the perfect cream to hydrate the skin for makeup.

I used CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 all over to even out her skin tone and give a flawless finish. A light dust of CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair was used to take the edge off the shine. On Carey’s cheeks, I used CHANEL Powder Blush in Fandango on the apples of her cheeks blended back to give her definition and a soft glow.

Carey’s eyes were my main focus. I used CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Noir-Ivoire all over her eye lid blending ever so slightly up above the natural crease of her eye, pulling it out to the sides of her eyes to give her a sharper and more dramatic edge. Then, I layered CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir to finish her eyes. I wanted Carey’s eyebrows to be strong and structured so I used CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun to create this effect. I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Beige Felin; this was the perfect lipstick to finish off her MET Gala look.

    Products used:
CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme, $390.00
CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15, $45.00
CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Clair, $45.00
CHANEL Powder Blush in Fandango, $43.00
CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Noir-Ivoire, $42.00
CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir, $30.00
CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun, $29.00
CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Beige Felin, $32.50

EMILY BLUNT – MAKEUP BY CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST JENN STREICHER

2012 costume institute gala emily bluntI was able to go with Emily to the initial fitting and I knew from the moment I saw the dress, and the color, I wanted to do a bronzy eye. We wanted to showcase the color of the dress with very simple streamlined hair, beautiful skin and a matte lip. I originally wanted to do a more coral lip, but after she put the dress on, we all agreed a more nude color looked better.

I mixed the CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rose with a little of the CHANEL Soleil Tan Sheer Illuminating Fluid to give her skin a sun-kissed bronzy look. I then brushed a little CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Naturel across her nose and forehead. I gave her just a pop of color on her cheeks with CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Bronze.

On her eyes, I started with the CHANEL Professional Eye Shadow Base and then blended colors from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices and Mystic Eyes. I gave her one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, as to not take away from the intense bronzy eye. After trying a few shades of lipstick, we thought the CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Peregrina looked best.

    Products used:
CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rose, $45.00
CHANEL Soleil Tan Sheer Illuminating Fluid, $48.00
CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Naturel, $45.00
CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Bronze, $43.00
CHANEL Professional Eye Shadow Base, $32.00
CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices, $58.00
CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes, $58.00
CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir, $30.00
CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Peregrina, $32.50

SARAH JESSICA PARKER – MAKEUP BY MAKEUP ARTIST LESLIE LOPEZ

2012 costume institute gala sarah jessica parkerI was inspired by Sarah Jessica’s dress – the dress always tells you what to do with the makeup! It reminded me of a party in Versailles, so I didn’t want to do anything too harsh…we wanted her to be fresh and beautiful – garden chic!

I started by prepping her skin with CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme and used it on her neck as well. Sarah Jessica’s skin looks gorgeous, so I used CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 30 only in the places she really needed it and applied it very lightly, followed by my favorite product CHANEL Long Lasting Concealer in Beige Ivoire. I used a pink blush on her cheeks and then topped that off with Exclusive Creation Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Rose and applied that to the temples of her forehead.

For the eyes, I applied CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium. I used the minty green shade all over her eyes and then the dark shades in the crease and in the middle of the eye.

I finished the look by using CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Sheer Lipshine in Chance, a fresh pinky shade and then I dabbed a bit of CHANEL Glossimer in Sirocco, a gorgeous beigy gold shade, in the middle of the lips for a soft pop.

JESSICA PARE – MAKEUP BY MAKEUP ARTIST AMY NADINE

2012 costume institute gala jessica pareI was inspired by Jessica’s incredible gold-sequined dress, so I paired it with a metallic eye in rose gold + bronze, accented with wispy lashes and dewy skin with a light rose cheek and lip.

First I prepped the skin with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum for ultimate hydration and CHANEL Ultra Correction Lift Total Eye Lift around her eyes with my ring finger. I applied CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 20 all over her face and neck with the CHANEL Foundation Brush #6 and blended with a Beauty Blender egg-shaped sponge.

I contoured the cheekbone with Exclusive Creation Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Rose then added CHANEL Powder Blush in Orchid Rose just along the highest corners of her cheekbones.

I filled in her brows with Damone Roberts pencil in Minx. Next, I dampened my eye shadow brush for intensity and staying power and applied CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Eclosion with the bronze shade along the upper and lower lashline, the rose gold shade on the lid, the gold shade in the crease and the pearl shade in the inner corner and brow bone. I followed with VS Makeup Kajal liner on the waterline then two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara and a dozen Ardell individual flare lashes on each eye.

I lined the entire lip with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Peche and finished with CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Peregrina.

SHAILENE WOODLEY – MAKEUP BY MAKEUP ARTIST GLORIA NOTO

2012 costume institute gala shailene woodleyI started by prepping Shailene’s skin with the new CHANEL Hydra Beauty Creme to give her skin a fresh drink of moisture and give the foundation a soft dewy glow.

I applied the new CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Fresh and Hydrating Cream Compact Makeup SPF 15 to further the fresh face glow and leave a natural finish but still give the coverage you need for red carpet. We didn’t want a bright cheek look, but still wanted something more than just natural contours, so we used CHANEL Powder Blush in Plum Attraction on the apples of her cheeks.

On her eyes we buffed out the CHANEL Eyeshadow Duo in Taupe-Delicat, using the darker color on her outer lid and the lighter on the entire lid and buffed out. CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Noir and Coffee Bean were buffed on a small brush first, then onto the eye line. We kept her brows clean and used a mascara wand to brush them upwards. I applied many layers of the CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. We love her amazingly long and full eyelashes and Shailene prefers to keep that as a main feature focus.

On her lips, we used a CHANEL Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm, and added a hint of a soft peach with CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Chintz to the mix to give a hint of color.

    Products used:
    CHANEL Hydra Beauty Creme, $87.00
CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Fresh and Hydrating Cream Compact Makeup SPF 15, $58.00
