This year Chanel did not have any actual events at their NYC boutiques, instead they launched Les Twin-Sets de Chanel to commemorate FNO and were open a bit later. I stopped by the boutique to see the colors first hand and they were very pretty up close and personal. I was able to only get one photo before the security guard informed me that I couldn’t take photos so sadly, I did not get a picture of the lipsticks. If you live near a Chanel boutique I would definitely stop in to see the new colors – I especially love La Provocante & Provocation. Which are your favorites?

It is held in place with two rows of cotton thread and secured with a wax stamp bearing the double C. Only a handful of artisans, working within the CHANEL studio, know how to perform this precise art.

Keira Knightley in Chanel Couture at Anna Karenina Premiere
Last night Keira Knightley wore Chanel Haute Couture for the London premiere of her newest film, Anna Karenina. The cream, sheer, floral gown was from the Chanel Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection. She looked lovely and wore the it well. I love the dress but I don’t love the belt – on the runway or off. Either way, she still looks gorgeous in Chanel.

Les Twin-Sets de Chanel Collection for Fashion’s Night Out
Each year, Chanel releases special limited-edition colors of Le Vernis to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out. For FNO 2012, Peter Philips has upped the ante and is releasing Les Twin-Sets de Chanel – a duo of matching Le Vernis nail and Rouge Allure Velvet lip colors.
There are three duos: La Provocante & Provocation, a unique autumn plum harmony; L’Infidéle & Infidéle, an intense pink with a burst of energy; and La Délicate & Délicatesse, a refined expression of beige to play on the natural side of sophistication.

New to My Library – Paper Passion Review
Back in June I posted about Paper Passion, the fragrance by Geza Schoen, Gerhard Steidl, and Wallpaper* magazine, with packaging by Karl Lagerfeld and Steidl. I received my book/bottle a few weeks ago and have been meaning to post photos but am just now getting around to it.
The packaging is very impressive and a true collector’s piece. I can’t say that I love the fragrance or that it smells like paper, but I still love this fragrance because the packaging and idea behind it are so clever. For those of you wondering what it smells like, it has a very strong alcohol smell to it and reminds me of rubbing alcohol. I know, not very pleasant at first, but the strong alcohol scent fades quickly and you’re left with a very clean, simple scent.

CHANEL Haute Couture Film by Trevor Undi
Trevor Undi has made a film of the Chanel Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2012/13 collection set to the tune of Garment (For a Garment) by Alva Noto. I love the lighting and how the models have a halo of light around them. The varying speeds from slow motion to fast give us a a sense of movement and by seeing the models walk in slow motion you really get to see the details of the garments and how they move with the body. I really enjoyed this video and I hope you do too…
