    Chanel Fall-Winter Ready-to-Wear 2012 Invitation Sneak Peek

chanel fall winter 2012 ready to wear invitation sneak peek

Chanel posted an image as a teaser of the upcoming show tomorrow and all I can make out are crystals. It seems that Karl Lagerfeld has been really inspired by natural beauty for the ready-to-wear collections. Last fall we saw the scorched earth, for this spring we were taken under the sea and for Fall 2012? All I know is that crystals will be involved – can’t wait to see!

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême Ad Campaign

chanel allure homme sport eau extreme kathryn bigelow danny fuller

Chanel has linked up with surfer Danny Fuller and Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow for the Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême ad campaign.  The stills and film are in black and white and feature Danny Fuller doing what he does best.  I especially love the male voice over saying the name of the fragrance – very sexy.  I might have to get this for my husband.

The Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême will officially begin to run in April, but Chanel dropped some sneak peeks today. On choosing to work with Kathryn Bigelow, Christine Dagousset, executive vice president of fragrance and beauté of Chanel stated:

Kathryn Bigelow has an amazing vision and ability to direct action-filled moments…In addition to ‘The Hurt Locker,’ she also directed the surf film ‘Point Break.’ She was the best person to direct this type of campaign, especially because of her affinity for the sport of surfing. Because Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême is the extreme version of the classic Allure Homme, the new concentration was meant to be more edgy, avant-garde and take more risks. This campaign does, as well. (WWD).

Chanel nose Jacques Polge created the new scent which has notes of mint, clary sage, black pepper from Madagascar, tonka bean and sandalwood.  Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême is available in two sizes: 1.7 oz. for $62 and 3.4 oz. for $84.

    Chanails! March Madness Style

Each month MISS, La Chanelphile’s sister site, releases a desktop image and monthly calendar for free download. The theme of the calendar is “Nails Did” and each month we match a manicure to a designer accessory.  To celebrate March Madness we decided to don Chanel pearl knuckles and play some ball – with a Chanel basketball of course!  We also brought out an A-team of Chanel’s fragrance heavy hitters, including Jersey Numbers 5, 19, 28 and 31, definitely the most chic basketball jerseys I’ve ever seen. For links to download the free desktop and calendar please visit MISS.

    diy chanel pearl hair pin

I came across this great DIY post on Honestly WTF and thought I would share.  Learn how to make Chanel-inspired pearl hair pins reminiscent of the ones seen on the models at the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 Ready-to-Wear runway presentation.  I think I might have to try this.  Let me know if you try it and how it comes out – feel free to post pictures in the comments!

Chanel Beauté at the 2012 Academy Awards

Another awards show has come and gone and once more I am in awe at the lack of Chanel couture (or RTW for that matter) on the red carpet.   Chanel Beauté however was on the red carpet and Chanel celebrity makeup and nail artists were on hand to make the leading ladies shine.  Here’s a break down of the products and techniques used…

MICHELLE WILLIAMS ~ MAKEUP BY CHANEL CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST ANGELA LEVIN

    INSPIRATION
My inspiration was a flower! When I saw Michelle in her stunning dress, it made me think of a beautiful rose I have in my garden. Like that flower, she looked so gorgeous and delicate, so I decided to use an array of Spring hues!

    PRODUCTS
Skincare: I began by hydrating her skin with a light layer of CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00).

Eye Shadow: Next, I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00), using half moon strokes on the lids to maintain a round, soft feeling. For an added pop of glamour, I placed a bit of CHANEL Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Tigerlily ($28.50) on her lids.

Eye Liner: Under the eyes, I used the darkest color, the neutral deep brown with gold flecks shade, from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes ($58.00).

Eye Brows: CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair ($29.00).

Foundation: To further enhance Michelle’s already gorgeous skin, I applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Compact ($58.00 – Available March 19 on chanel.com) for a hydrated, flawless, revitalized and radiant look.

Blush: For the cheeks, I applied my favorite new cheek color, Exclusive Creation Blush Horizon de CHANEL ($58.00).

Highlighter: To accentuate the natural contours of Michelle’s face, I lightly added CHANEL Limited Edition Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Jasmin ($45.00) to her cheeks. I also added this to her shoulders for a slight highlight as well.

Mascara: To the top and bottom lashes, I applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00).

Lipstick: For Michelle’s bright, purpley-pink lips, I mixed two CHANEL Rouge Coco Shades from CHANEL’s Spring collection: Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paradis, a pink coral with Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Destineé, a spring plum (each $32.00).

SANDRA BULLOCK ~ MAKEUP BY CHANEL CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST ANGELA LEVIN

    INSPIRATION
    Gorgeous in every way!!

    PRODUCTS
Skincare: I started by applying a rich dose of CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00) to a clean face and let it absorb into the face for about 15 minutes.

Foundation: On her eyes and forehead, I then used a light coat of CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Compact ($58.00 – Available March 19 on chanel.com).

Blush: For the cheeks I wanted to create a fresh, youthful appearance so I applied Exclusive Creation Blush Horizon de CHANEL ($58.00).

Eye Shadow: On the eyes, I began by applying CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre in Émerveille ($36.00) to her lids lightly with my fingers. I followed by applying all colors from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Enigma ($58.00). I used the chocolate grey on the outer part of the lid, the violet grey on the eye crease, the pink under the brow bone and the deep plum to frame the eye across the lash lines.

Eye Liner: To further glamorize her eyes, I lined the upper lash line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir ($28.00).

Mascara: CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir ($30.00).

Lipstick: I finished her look by applying a sumptuous amount of CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Mademoiselle ($32.00) topped with CHANEL Glossimer in Braise ($29.50).

GLENN CLOSE ~ MAKEUP BY CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST CATHY HIGHLAND

GLENN CLOSE MAKEUP BY CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST CATHY HIGHLAND

    INSPIRATION
Timeless beauty was the inspiration for Glenn’s Oscar look. With the unique color of her dress, I wanted Glenn’s face to be fresh, but also have enough pop for the cameras on the red carpet and last all evening through the parties following the live telecast. And yes, since it was the special night of the Academy Awards…we all agreed on pure glamour!

    PRODUCTS
Skincare: The night before Glenn used CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00). Before I applied the makeup, I used CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum (Available April 2012).

Foundation: I used CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 ($45.00). It was set and finished off with CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Translucent 1 ($45.00).

Blush: CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love ($43.00).

Eye Shadow: I covered the lid with the shimmery CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre in Émerveille ($36.00). I then blended the darker green shadow from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium ($58.00) up to the crease creating a soft, classic smoky eye.

Eye Brows: CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair ($29.00).

Eye Liner: I used CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Brun ($29.00). I like to emphasize the lash line with a very fine line of black. My personal trick is using a tiny brush and dipping it into the black waterproof mascara for a ‘stay in place’ application for a long day.

Lipstick: Lastly, I applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lipshine in Unique ($32.50), a reddish berry pink with gold sparkles.

    INSPIRATION
Classic Hollywood, but with a young and fresh twist to highlight Angelina’s natural beauty.

    PRODUCTS
CHANEL Le Vernis in Tendresse ($26.00) on fingers and toes

    RED CARPET NAIL TIP
It is important to moisturize the hands. I always mix a formula with a special blend of organic natural oil, butter and organic sugar.

    INSPIRATION
The inspiration was just clean and simple like the makeup, it was a very ethereal look due to the dress being clean lines and simple.

    PRODUCTS
CHANEL Protective Base Coat ($25.00) on fingers and toes
CHANEL Extreme Shines Nail Lacquer ($25.00) on fingers and toes

KRISTEN WIIG ~ FINGERS & TOES PAINTED BY CELEBRITY MANICURIST ALICIA TORELLO

    INSPIRATION
We wanted a clean and chic look, but something unexpected and not traditional. We wanted to do something fun and bold and something that contrasted beautifully with her blush-colored dress.

    PRODUCTS
CHANEL Le Vernis in Black Satin ($26.00) on fingers

    RED CARPET NAIL TIP
About a week up to the event it’s good to moisturize the hands and oil the cuticles often. When deciding on a polish for a big night out, you can’t really go wrong with any CHANEL color, each one creates a statement because the polish is so bold and unique even if it’s a natural shade.

All products are available online on Chanel.com.

    Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2012 Paris-Bombay Handbags

Chanel Metiers DArt Pre Fall 2012 Paris Bombay Handbags
Earlier this year we saw the Chanel Métiers D’Art Pre-Fall 2012 Paris-Bombay collection and we recently found some close-up images of the handbags. The detail on these bags is elaborate, elegant and truly captures the artistry of traditional Indian works. The print on the bronze clutch is reminiscent of Mehendi and the silver coin straps, floral details and silver beading recalls details of traditional Indian accessories. See the beauty below…
