In the second of three short films for Magnum Ice Cream, Rachel Bilson depicts an art student who finds inspiration after having a Magnum ice cream bar. Art Class also features Baptsite Giabiconi as an art student and was directed by Karl Lagerfeld. I have to say, the ads are working because every time I watch it I want an ice cream bar (and they are delicious I tried them!).

Chanel on the Red Carpet at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala
There were many starlets that wore Chanel Beauté on the red carpet at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala – and there wore those that wore haute couture. I’ve always wondered why more actresses didn’t wear Chanel couture on the red carpet and last night the ladies did not disappoint. Chanel was worn by many including Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue and Chanel’s newest pretty young thing, Blake Lively. I think my favorite Chanel ensembles were worn by Janelle Monae and Frida Pinto. My lease favorite was worn by Kirsten Dunst. I’m sure up close the dress is spectacular but it looked a little frumpy on Ms. Dunst. What do you think? Which dress was your favorite?

How-To:
Vivian first used CHANEL Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate to prepare Blake’s skin. Next, she lightly swiped CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Désert across her face and added Guerlain Terracotta Concealer 02.
On the apples of her cheeks, Vivian used Stila Petunia Blush and lightly brushed CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Terre Ambre over her nose, forehead and jawline. She then layered Becca Mermaid Shimmering Eyeshadow and the gold shade from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices on the eye and finished with CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. The look was completed with CHANEL Rouge Allure Gloss in Genie and CHANEL Glossimer in Pensée.

Chanel Spring in Cannes Ephemeral Boutique
Chanel is opening a 300 square meter pop-up boutique in Cannes featuring selections from the Spring-Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear and Paris-Byzance collections. The boutique’s color palette is black and gold and has black mosaic floors, sequined carpets and “offers a view all the way down to the stairs leading up to the Palais des Festivals.”
Chanel stated:
The make-up bar presents the Lumières Byzantines eye shadow palette, created by Peter Philips for the Paris-Byzance collection. The nail bar, meanwhile, highlights a summer palette.
There are pieces from the Paris-Byzance collection as a sneak preview amidst designs from the Spring-Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection, and dresses and suits – on loan from the Chanel Conservatory – worn by those loyal to the House, such as Keira Knightley, Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz and Michelle Mercier.
The Cannes Ephemeral Boutique will be open from May 7th to May 22nd 2011 from 10am to 7pm. The address is: 6, Boulevard de la Croisette, 06400 Cannes, France.
I wish I could go! I’m hoping Chanel will post images from the boutique – it sounds exquisite!
Everything Is Better In Chocolate
As part of the press surrounding the Magnum Ice Cream commercials that Karl Lagerfeld directed, Uncle Karl created a hotel suite made entirely of Belgian chocolate – 10.5 tons of it to be exact. The room would not be complete without someone to enjoy it – in this case, a life-size Baptiste Giabiconi. Now, Baptiste is pretty yummy to begin with – can you imagine him in chocolate? Very yummy.

Katy Perry in Chanel Track Suit
Katy Perry flew the friendly skies in a beige Chanel track suit from the 2011 spring/summer collection. She paired the track suit with Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats and a Chanel 2.55 bag. It’s a very comfy look – I’m a bit jealous. I love sweatpants and it doesn’t get better than Chanel sweatpants. I do have one pet peeve though… I’m not so into wearing sweatpants in public unless you are on your way to the gym. Does the fact that they’re Chanel sweatpants make it ok? It was a 15 hour flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne and it is afterall, Chanel, so I’ll let this one slide

“Photo Mood” by Karl Lagerfeld for Magnum Ice Cream
A month ago we shared the news that Karl Lagerfeld was directing Rachel Bilson in a series of ads for Magnum Ice Cream and two weeks ago we gave you a sneak peek of the preview. Well, here is the first of three ads directed by Karl Lagerfeld and featuring Rachel Bilson for Magnum Ice Cream. “Photo Mood” features Rachel Bilson as an annoyed famous model who finds the pleasure she’s been seeking in the form of a smooth and delicious Magnum ice cream bar.
What do you think? I wonder if Baptiste Giabiconi got inspiration from watching Karl Lagerfeld as a photographer? He’s modeled for Karl and been photographed by him many times. I’m curious!
