Indulge in Style with Magnum Ice Cream and Rachel Bilson

Last week we showed you some behind the scenes images of the ad campaign for Magnum Ice Cream featuring Rachel Bilson and directed by Karl Lagerfeld.  To mark the launch, Magnum is hosting a contest on Polyvore. Submit your entry by styling a chic red carpet look for a chance to attend the debut of Karl Lagerfeld’s film series starring Rachel at the Tribeca Film Festival.  Rachel Bilson will judge the contest, and she and Karl Lagerfeld will both be in-attendance at the premiere!  It’s like playing dress up – only better.  Contest ends on April 4th so get stylin’!

PS  – I tasted the Magnum vanilla ice cream/dark chocolate bar – it was very tasty! I wish I had one right now :)

Coca Cola Light – Karl Lagerfeld’s 2011 Designs

karl lagerfeld coca cola light 2011 diet coke

Last year, Karl Lagerfeld collaborated with Coca Cola Light on an aluminum limited edition soda bottle.  For 2011, Uncle Karl has revisited the partnership and has designed three new bottles.  All three bottles feature a color scheme of black, white and fuchsia.  Lagerfeld also photographed the ad campaign that features Coco Rocha, Heidi Mount and Jeneil Williams.  The bottles will be available in June.  I’m wondering if Coco Rocha is a huge Diet Coke fan since she was in the first ad campaingn (pictured below).

Karl Lagerfeld Directs Rachel Bilson in Magnum Ice Cream Ad

No, this has nothing to do with Chanel – but it was to do with premium ice cream and Karl Lagerfeld so I like it. In celebration of the U.S. launch this April, Magnum – one of the world’s most luxurious ice cream brands – has collaborated with global icon and creative visionary, Karl Lagerfeld, to create, produce and direct a series of three films, starring actress and style-setting starlet, Rachel Bilson.

The sensory-rich, original film series offers Americans a look into the pleasurable lifestyle Magnum ice cream has cultivated around the world for more than 20 years. The three films, “Photo Mood,” “Applause,” and “Art Class,” will premiere at an exclusive event during the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21. Simultaneous to the premiere during Tribeca, the lead film will be released to fans on Magnum’s Facebook page, and the two subsequent films will make their Facebook debut in the weeks to follow.

The shoot took place in Paris this week and I’d like to provide you with a first glance at Karl Lagerfeld’s creative vision. In addition to starring in the short-film series, Rachel Bilson will judge a Magnum-inspired contest with Polyvore, which will launch this Friday, March 25. The winner, whose set best reflects the luxury of the Magnum lifestyle, will attend the premiere of the Karl Lagerfeld-directed film series during the Tribeca Film Festival.

Magnum Ice Cream will be arriving in stores this month and next. It’s sold at grocery stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Safeway and convenience stores (i.e. Walgreens, etc). I took a look at the flavors and they look delicious. I can’t wait to try it!

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 2011 Ad Campaign – All Videos and Photos

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Ad CampaignI put up several posts on the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ad campaign – feeding you little bits of info as I received it. Well, today, I received everything – the entire media package and I’m laying it all out here for you to enjoy.

On March 21, 2011, CHANEL will debut the highly anticipated short film titled, “Coco
Mademoiselle,” starring Oscar®-nominated actress Keira Knightley.

Three years after the first commercial film, Knightley reprises her role as COCO MADEMOISELLE, a modern
day Coco Chanel whose mystery, daring and rebelliousness are at the heart of her charm.

While the first film featured long evening gowns, the second takes on a more urban feel, with Knightley
appearing on the streets of Paris in a chic, beige motorcycle jumpsuit designed for her by Karl Lagerfeld.
Filmed in legendary locations across the City of Light – from Place Vendome to Place de la Concorde, the film
is a collaboration between Knightley and Joe Wright, a creative relationship that began with Wright’s
directorial debut, the Oscar®-nominated film Pride & Prejudice, and continued with the Oscar®-nominated
    Atonement.

“For me, Gabrielle Chanel is an icon and there was an incredible power emanating from all the photos of her,”
states Knightley. “When I began to delve into her history more closely, I was obviously fascinated by her
immense talent as a designer, but more than that, by her singular background.”

The commercial film’s soundtrack, “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World” by James Brown is performed by the
soulful voice of Grammy® award winner, Joss Stone and was published by Warner Chappell.
Coco Mademoiselle is a fresh oriental scent created by CHANEL master perfumer Jacques Polge in 2001.
The fragrance represents the ever-evolving spirit of Coco Chanel in this feminine, sexy, young and exciting
    fragrance.

A national cable television flight of 30 and 60 second spots will debut March 22, 2011. A print advertisement
shot by Mario Testino will debut in April 2011.

In April 2006, Knightley joined the legendary league of women who have represented CHANEL in global
advertising campaigns. Her elegance, beauty and modernity are some of her qualities that parallel the iconic
faces featured in the CHANEL fragrance campaigns, including Nicole Kidman, Ali McGraw, Catherine
Deneuve and Audrey Tautou for N°5, Vanessa Paradis for Coco and Anna Mouglalis for Allure Sensuelle.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle – Le Film

It’s here!  We’ve seen the photos, the behind the scenes, the teaser and the trailer – now we can actually watch the full film.  Featuring Keira Knightley and Alberto Ammann, directed by Joe Wright and set to the tune of It’s a man’s man’s man’s world (James Brown, Betty Newsome), performed by Joss Stone. Keira Knightley looks gorgeous in this ad and it’s very steamy – see for yourself!

    Karl Lagerfeld Sketches Coco Chanel

Last year, Justine Picardie released Coco Chanel: The Legend and The Life.  Karl Lagerfeld enjoyed the bio so much that it inspired him to sketch Coco Chanel for a new edition that will be published by Steidl.  Picardie and Lagerfeld will host a cocktail reception for the 2nd edition at Galignani, one of Lagerfeld’s favorite bookstores in Paris.  A German version releases in April and the English version will release in June.

More Images & Video of the Chanel Mademoiselle Bag Campaign Featuring Blake Lively

More shots of the Mademoiselle bag ad campaign, featuring Blake Lively, have been revealed. The 3 new photos show Blake with three different bags – one black Mademoiselle bag, one light blue (or grey?) Mademoiselle bag, and the third looks like either a small clutch or wallet.  All the photos are taken on the legendary staircase at 31 Rue Cambon.  These photos are just as lovely as the first three we saw last week.  What do you think?  Which do you like better?

View the first look at the Blake Lively Mademoiselle Bag ad campaign.

View more looks from the Blake Lively Mademoiselle Bag ad campaign and behind the scenes shots.

There’s also a short product video that just features the bag – no Blake Lively – I guess they save the longer product films with actresses for their fragrance campaigns.  Nonetheless, the video does a nice job of showing us the beautiful quality and details of the Mademoiselle bag – while also reminding you of the other Chanel products you can fill your bag with.

Blake Lively for Chanel Mademoiselle – Ads & Behind the Scenes

Earlier this week we showed you the first ad image that was shown online of Blake Lively in the Chanel Mademoiselle handbag campaign.  Today, Chanel News released behind the scenes images and The Cut showed two more ad images.  The other ad images feature bags in other colors and Blake Lively looks gorgeous in them. It looks like my hunch was right and Karl Lagerfeld shot the ad on the staircase at 31 Rue Cambon.  What a lucky girl! Blake is the face of Chanel handbags AND she got to see the legendary staircase (and probably the apartment too!).

I must say though, the behind the scenes photos are just as beautiful. Shot in black and white, I think they are strong enough to be ads as well – in some ways I prefer them.  What do you think?

Lily Allen to Wear a Chanel Wedding Dress

OOOH! Word on the Web is that Lily Allen will wear a Chanel wedding dress. You may remember that she was the face of the Coco Cocoon collection and sang at the Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear show.  She’s engaged to Sam Cooper and she was in attendance in Paris at the Chanel Fall-Winter 2011/2012 Ready-to-Wear show. She told WWD: “I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress.” So exciting! I can not wait to see this!
