Inspired by the classic Chanel Rouge Allure range of lipstick, Chanel has released Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss – a “new generation” of lip gloss. The Extrait de Gloss offers extremely rich color, intense shine, and a smooth, silky texture that feels luxurious and looks dramatic. I’m a big fan of lip gloss and I had a chance to try this at the makeup counter. It wasn’t sticky at all and I loved the shine – it gave a nice finish to the look. Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is available in nine shades and can be purchased at Chanel makeup counters and online for $32.

The infamous kidult twins Dee & Ricky just released their newest limited edition Lego piece – the Chanel lipstick. These are not for wearing – not on your lips anyway. The duo has found fame by making Lego accessories ranging from hearts, music notes, crosses and even cigarettes. I must say this is my favorite by far! Limited to only 50 pieces, you can get yours by emailing the twins at INFO@DEEANDRICKY.COM.

The Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 Haute Couture show featured very simple makeup with a striking red lip. This is the look Coco Chanel herself preferred so it should come as no surprise that it showed on on the runway. Also, Chanel recently released its Rouge Coco line of lipsticks in their attempt to “bring lipstick back” and what better way than to feature it on the runway? See the Global Creative Director for Chanel talk about what inspired the faces on the runway…

Um, can I be a Chanel Ambassador pretty please??

Peter Philips, the artistic director of Chanel Beauty has made quite a splash since he joined the Chanel team in 2008. In his short time there he’s already created cult classics like Gold Fiction, Jade and Particulière. Now you can watch the master make-up artist at work behind the scenes at runway shows, in his studio, during beauty shoots and in business meetings.
I especially love these videos because you get rare glimpses into fittings (which still take place in Mademoiselle’s salon), details of some of the accessories, the Lesage embroidery studio, and even the archives where you catch sight of original Chanel beauty products and Coco’s very first little black dress.
