I just came across this video of Coco Chanel’s apartment at 31 Rue Cambon. I have to say that since not everyone is allowed up there, I thought the quality of the video would be a bit better – it comes across as a bit touristy/amateur – just sayin’. But, it is an inside look into the legendary apartment so I’ll take what I can get! Hopefully, one day I’ll have a video of my own

So, the rumors weren’t true…Blake Lively can’t attend the Chanel Fall/Winter 2011 Ready-to-Wear show in Paris because of a scheduling conflict with the Gossip Girl shooting schedule – not because she thinks celebrities shouldn’t sit front row. Whew!
Since she couldn’t make it to the show, Blake Lively hosted a dinner in Paris at the Chanel couture salon, complete with performance by Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. A pink rose décor and three course meal by a two-star Michelin chef set the scene for the who’s who of fashion elite including Lou Doillon, Karen Elson, Anna Wintour and her daughter Bee Shaffer, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Chanel spokespeople Anna Mouglalis (bags, fine jewelry and watches), Elisa Sednaoui (glasses) and Chanel’s brand ambassadors Leigh Lezark, Caroline Sieber.
It sounds like it was a lovely event. Dear Chanel, please bring on some blog ambassadors and please let moi be one!

Word on the web is that Blake Lively thinks it’s tacky when celebs sit front row at fashion shows – even though she’s done it in the past. The web is abuzz with rumors that she won’t be at the Chanel Fall/Winter 2011 show, but instead will be hosting a dinner in Paris since Lively is the face of the Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line. We’ll know for sure what happens on the 8th I suppose!

For the next 10 days, Colette and Chanel teamed up to give consumers a unique shopping experience. A few of the special products that Colette commissioned are online in their web shop – but most sold out within hours of being put up. It doesn’t look like actual Chanel pieces will be online including a Colette blue Mademoiselle purse and camellias in black, white and Colette blue. I wish I could be there for this – if you can get to Paris then this is a must see!

Starting January 6, the exterior of Paris’ Musée d’Orsay will be graced with the silhouette of the iconic Chanel No.5 bottle. The image of the flacon measures 2,890 square feet and is covered with 1,200 handmade sequins. Dazzling!

Keira Knightley, star of the upcoming COCO MADEMOISELLE advertising campaign sequel directed by Joe Wright, wore CHANEL makeup at the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear Show in Paris on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010.
Keira looked gorgeous and I love her new bob. I wonder if it was inspired by Coco? Keira’s look was created using the following products – it won’t make us look like her but it will get us as close as we can:
Face: VITALUMIÈRE AQUA Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige Rosé – Tendre (available March 2011)
JOUES CONTRASTE Powder Blush in Pink Explosion
Eyes: LES 4 OMBRES Quadra Eye Shadow in Tentation Cuivré
MASCARA INIMITABLE WATERPROOF in Noir
Lips: ROUGE COCO Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Chintz

Music is a big part of creating ambiance and I love the tunes at Chanel because I’m always introduced to something new. Here are the tunes that filled the air of the Grand Palais in Paris:
“Antennae”, Shy and Mighty

Lou Reed and John Cale
“Small Town”, Songs For Drella
Sire/Warner Records 1990
“Never Stop (Piano-Pella)”
